I have a website whose domain is hosted by Easy Host. I want to switch to a new website hosting company, but still keep my website address.
Also, I just recently switched from a PC to a Mac, so I would need a compatibe website hosting company as well. Any suggestions.

I just became a reseller with makemoneysellingdomainnames to resell web hosting and domain names. I joined because I build a decent amount of websites for my own use. I was wondering why a lot of webmasters and IT people aren’t in the reseller business. I drive a taxi and talk with a lot of IT people and almost none of them take advantage of controlling the cost for web hosting. Isn’t this strange? Any comments welcome.

I’m hosting a website for a registered charity and I’m a little confused on the rules.

Services are not tax deductible, but any additional costs that may occur ARE tax deductible.

This charity is using space and abandwidth on the server that I pay for. I havent charged them a dime because I have a few personal things on the server as well and the server is large enough to host multiple websites.

Tax deductible? No?
Wayne, But I could’ve taken the space and bandwidth and sold it to someone else. Instead, I’m giving it to a registered charity. Doesn’t that have some sort of implication?

We are currently searching for some cheap web hosting companies for our new venture projects. We are not yet ready for the expensive dedicated server such as the one we see in Rackspace. I need really cheap hosting that offers hundreds of IPs IF i need them. I found some online for 3 bucks an IP, but thats not cheap enough. Uptime isnt really important as long as its 60%. Can anyone help me?
I want whatever is cheapest, which would likely be shared. 100 Shared IPs with very small bandwidth and crappy uptime would work fine, i just need the sites up for link value.

I’m looking to run a website for my father and I saw on yahoo.com that you could choose between hosting a website, and buying a domain name. I’m not too familiar with buying/hosting domains and websites so I’m clueless as to what I should have my dad do.

What would be better to do? Host a website or buy a domain? Or are they just about the same thing?
